ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has urged the nation to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with simplicity.
While chairing a session of the National Command Operation Center (NCOC) today, Asad Umar evaluated the implementation of security measures to control the spread of coronavirus on Eid-ul-Azha.
Umar asked the nation to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and to avoid gatherings. He also urged them not to go to parks and other places of entertainment during Eid-ul-Azha.

It is pertinent to remember that the number of coronavirus infections has declined significantly after the country adopted the strategy of smart lockdown. As many as 236,596 patients have recovered from the disease.
Umar earlier asserted a decline in coronavirus cases in Pakistan is primarily due to a nearly 60 percent reduction in the positivity of the virus. Meanwhile, the coronavirus cases in Pakistan are now above 270,400, while the number of casualties has passed 5,700.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 269,191 in the country. According to National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 1,209 cases of coronavirus were reported while 54 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 5,763.
