An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi on Tuesday extended the physical remand of accused Armaghan for six days in the high-profile Mustafa Amir murder case.
Both Armaghan and co-accused Sheeraz were presented before the court for the hearing. During the proceedings, Sheeraz’s defense counsel argued that a key witness in the case had been wrongfully named as an accused. After reviewing the plea, the court sent Sheeraz to jail under judicial custody.
Meanwhile, Armaghan complained to the court about his treatment in custody, stating that he had been wearing the same clothes for 15 days and that his thumbprints had been forcibly taken.
The prosecution lawyer informed the court that the murder weapon had yet to be recovered and that investigators were still gathering evidence regarding the suspect’s movements outside Karachi.
After hearing the arguments, the ATC judge approved a six-day physical remand for Armaghan, while his co-accused, Sheeraz, was sent on judicial remand.
