ISLAMABAD: PML-N senior leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that appointing chief of the army staff on merit will have negative consequence for the armed forces and Pakistan.
During an interview on a private TV channel, the former Prime Minister said that he didn’t think selecting army chief on seniority basis is the right thing to do. Such decision would harm the institution of army as well as the country, he added.
