The Awami National Party (ANP) has rejected the new delimitation of constituencies and has announced to go to court against it.
ANP Pakhtunkhwa’s President Amil Wali Khan said on Friday that the population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been deliberately understated, which is not acceptable in any case, due to unnecessary changes in the constituencies, the entire political process is having a negative impact.
He said that reducing six seats of the National Assembly in proportion to the population is an excess and injustice, millions of people of Pakhtunkhwa are living in other provinces due to terrorism and they were ignored in the census.
He said that on one hand, the province has no control over natural resources and on the other, international trade has also been stopped in Pakhtunkhwa.
“Pakhtunkhwa province is rich in natural resources and the richest province in the country but we are not being given our right. A province affected by terrorism will not tolerate the stepmother treatment,” he added.
The provincial president of ANP said that ANP would communicate with other political parties and announce the action plan very soon.
