MUZAFFARGARH: Another elderly woman on Sunday lost her life while attempting to obtain flour from the free flour point in Muzaffargarh run by the Punjab government.
According to police, the incident took place at Khangarh police station in Muzaffargarh, wherein the woman had come to collect free wheat flour.
She became fatigued from waiting in line and passed out from low blood pressure.
The elderly woman passed away after being sent to a neighboring hospital for medical care. She allegedly passed away from a heart attack, according to the physicians.
In a statement, the police said that the woman’s body was handed over to her family.
It is important to note that the government has set up flour distribution sites in a number of regions to give people the good for free throughout Ramadan.
However, these distribution stations have had poor management as huge lines of people wait to receive the necessary commodity for free.
Last month, a stamped during free flour distribution at Sahiwal’s Quaid-e-Azam Stadium left two women dead and 45 others injured.
In an earlier stampede at flour distribution point in Faisalabad last week an elderly man had died who came to get free flour from a distribution point.
