KARACHI: As a significant rise has been witnessed in sexual assault and harassment incidents in the country’s largest city, few serious steps have been taken to hold individuals accountable. This week, another instance of sexual harassment was reported in Karachi city in broad daylight.
In this particular incident, a veiled woman on Tuesday was walking through a street in Federal B Area Block 17 when a bike rider subjected her to sexual harassment.

The incident occurred at 10:55 a.m. and was captured on video. The CCTV footage clearly showed the perpetrator, who fled quickly after the woman resisted and cried for help.
After the incident, onlookers gathered, but the harasser escaped before he could be apprehended.
The incident caused outrage on social media, prompting police to start a manhunt for the man who was clearly seen harassing the woman.
This is the third such incident in the port city as the previous two incidents occurred in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Orangi Town.
