World-renowned Emirates Airlines is facing a damages case worth millions of rupees in a Karachi court for providing “substandard service”, it was reported on Wednesday.
A Pakistani citizen has filed a Rs5 million damages suit in a Karachi consumer court claiming that the airline’s service was pathetic and far below international standards.
The consumer court in Karachi West issued notices to the respondents on Wednesday.
Applicant Barrister Arsalan stated that he bought Emirates Airlines three return tickets and paid Rs229,000. “I was directed through an e-mail to check in around four hours before the flight and the flight was delayed for over six hours even after the check-in,” he added.
The applicant further recalled that the airline staff avoided giving reasons for the said delay in the flight.
The complainant said that then the Emirates Airlines staff transferred his and his family’s travel to low-cost FlyDubai Airlines, which flatly reduced to provide them with a decent inflight meal.
