RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Friday claimed to have thwarted narcotic smuggling bids during crackdowns in different cities of the country.
According to ANF sources, during a search operation at Lahore airport, the ANF officials recovered 1.6 kilograms of heroin from a cargo consignment.
They said the consignment was booked in the man of Ubaidullah Khan, a resident of Peshawar, and the drug was expertly concealed in the water cooler.
The officials further disclosed in another action, a cargo consignment was seized in Sialkot, recovering 1.26 kilograms of the heroin. The drug was concealed in cricket and hockey balls.
Meanwhile, a passenger trying to board Riyadh-bound flight from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore was caught red-handed carrying drugs concealed in snacks.
The ANF authorities took possession of the 5600 ‘snacks’ tablets and shifted him for further investigations. Separately, an accused Mohammad Naseer was arrested from Model town area of Lahore. The ANF recovered 400 grams of hashish from their possession.
