An American woman who initially resisted leaving Pakistan following a failed marriage attempt is now reportedly returning to the United States.
Onijah Andrew Robinson, a 33-year-old mother from New York, believed she had found love with 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she met online. She traveled to Karachi, Pakistan, with the expectation of marrying him. However, his family refused to approve their relationship.
Robinson quickly gained public attention after holding press conferences and making controversial financial demands. Initially, she requested $20,000 upfront and an additional $5,000 to $10,000 per week during her stay in Pakistan, though her demands continued to change over time.

She was later admitted to the psychiatry department at Karachi’s Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a mental health evaluation. A man identifying himself as her son described her as “mentally unstable” and stated that she has bipolar disorder. He has been working to facilitate her return to the U.S.
After weeks of uncertainty, local Pakistani media reported that Robinson had been taken to a welfare center and has now agreed to return to the United States.
