KARACHI: It has been revealed from relevant sources that the timing of educational institutions and markets in Sindh will be reduced from Monday in view of the new wave of coronavirus.
According to sources, the Sindh government has decided on new restrictions but the provincial government will issue a notification after the meeting on Friday.
Sources said that due to the Omicron variant, it has been decided to open the shops and markets from 8 am to 6 pm from Monday while the educational institutions will be closed from Monday to January 15, 2022.
Earlier, according to sources, the Sindh government had increased restrictions in the C-category districts due to fears of a new wave of ‘Omicron’ in South Africa and a slowdown in the corona vaccination campaign.
The order issued by the Sindh Home Department said that it would be mandatory to keep 50 percent of the seats vacant in the hotels of the districts included in the C-category.
According to the order, 30 percent of seats have been banned for indoor dining in Karachi. Hotels in Karachi will no longer be able to seat customers in more than 70% of the seats. The new restrictions under the Infectious Diseases Act in Sindh will come into effect by December 15.
