LAHORE: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan responded to Imran Khan’s allegations and advised him to do politics rather than inciting people.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan revealed the reason behind his differences with former aides Aleem Khan and Jahangir Khan Tareen, accusing them of seeking illegal benefits from him.
Speaking during a podcast, the former premier revealed that differences with both estranged leaders developed when he refused to provide those benefits. Sharing the details of those benefits, Imran Khan said: “Aleem Khan expected me to legalise his 300-acre land near Ravi”, adding he developed differences with him.
Talking about Jahangir Tareen, the PTI chairman stated that his problem was the sugar crisis on which a commission was also formed. “Tareen stood with those who are the biggest dacoits in the country. When I ordered a probe into the matter, differences developed with Tareen.”
Imran Khan said Aleem Khan and Jahangir Tareen have formed an alliance with PML-N as fighting corruption has no importance to them.
Reacting to the accused Aleem Khan called the allegations baseless and asked whether he stood by Imran Khan in every difficult time to change the status of 300 acres. He threatened to not remain silent if false accusation are made against him. He said people will soon know the true face of Imran Khan.
Aleem Khan also demanded an inquiry into Farah Khan’s relationship with a major developer. Regarding the legalization of land, he said, “I started supporting Imran Khan since 2010 and knew he would be prime minister in 2018.”
He said he did not acquire the land but bought it from private landlords. He mentioned that he has more than ten thousand acres of land at present. “This land is now with RUDA. This authority was created by Imran Khan. How could RUDA buy these lands at official price and give them to private developers,” he asked.
Aleem Khan said there should be an inquiry as to which developers were given these lands. ‘ I challenge you to come with Jahangir Tareen should sit on a channel and then tell the truth.”
