Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced fee concessions for underprivileged, deserving, and needy students as part of its Spring 2025 admissions, which will begin on January 1.
These concessions apply to programs ranging from matriculation to PhD.
“Our mission is to educate every Pakistani, not to generate profit. We aim to illuminate every home with the light of education,” said the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood. He outlined the university’s initiatives, including fee concessions for underprivileged students, the ‘Community Scheme’ scholarships, and the Matric Free Education Plan, according to a press release.
Dr. Nasir Mahmood explained that the Scholarship for Communities scheme offers financial support to marginalized groups, including disabled individuals, children of martyrs, prisoners, and members of the transgender community. Eligible students can receive fee concessions ranging from 50% to 100%, following the specified guidelines.
Moreover, under the Matric Free Education Plan, the university provides free matriculation education to children from the former FATA, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan regions.
Admissions for Spring 2025 will open on January 1, and students interested in availing themselves of these financial assistance programs are encouraged to contact their regional offices, complete the required forms, and apply for aid.
