As one of the social media users says, ‘Our national obsession with fair complexion was not enough, we are now shaming women on curly hair’. A Pakistani drama has set a brand new ridiculous record of shaming ‘ curly hair’ in the drama.
A drama with literally the title name of ‘Main Aisi Kyun Hun’ has not only broken records of the unique storyline but also advocated self-doubt and shamed women with ‘curly hair’, terming it as ugly.
It all started when social media users seemed outraged from its short clip in which an arrogant husband expresses his hatred for his wife’s curly and how ugly she looks with such hair.

He does not stop here but also laments how much pain he is suffering from whenever he realizes that their daughter has inherited the same hair texture.

The storyline is not only problematic and toxic but also with such script, it is planting another seed of doubt among women and their self-esteem. We as a society especially women and young girls were already fed up with typical beauty standards of fair complexion, and standard body type, and now hair shaming.
