ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will preside over a meeting of the National Security Council today regarding the current situation in Afghanistan.
According to sources, the meeting of the National Security Council will review the overall regional situation in Afghanistan, with high-level civilian and military officials attending the meeting.
On the other hand, in view of the rapidly changing situation in the region, the political leadership of Afghanistan has reached Pakistan. Afghan Speaker Mir Rahman Rahmani is also part of the delegation. Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq welcomed the guests.
According to sources, the Afghan delegation includes Muhammad Younis Qanuni, Ustad Muhammad Karim, Ahmad Zia Masood, Ahmad Wali Masood, Abdul Latif Pedram, and Khalid Noor.

During the visit, Afghan political leaders will meet with Pakistani officials and discuss the post-Taliban situation in Afghanistan. It should be noted that PIA has decided to launch a special operation for the evacuation of compatriots stranded in Afghanistan.
According to sources, PIA will operate large Boeing 777 aircraft from Kabul to Islamabad. PIA is continuing flight operations to Kabul on a daily basis.
Sources said that PIA has sought permission from Afghan Civil Aviation for Boeing 777 aircraft. PIA will operate Boeing 777 aircraft for Kabul on August 16, 17 and 18 as soon as it receives permission from Afghan CAA.\ PIA is conducting daily flight operations for Afghanistan with Airbus 320 aircraft.
