Afghan Deputy Prime Minister, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, has said that they consider Pakistan’s security in their interest and do not wish to see any instability in Pakistan. As Muslims and neighbors, they are not in favor of conflict and insecurity in Pakistan.
Maulvi Abdul Kabir expressed that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan aims to strengthen and broaden political, economic, and cultural ties with Pakistan. They believe that both Pakistan and Afghanistan can benefit more from mutual trade.
During a meeting with Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Asif Durrani, in Kabul, Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, Abdul Rahman Nizamani, was also present.
Abdul Kabir further stated that they want Pakistan to provide visa facilities and other conveniences to enhance business relations for Afghan traders, facilitating more bilateral trade.
He thanked Pakistan for hosting many Afghans and expressed the desire for Pakistan to treat them well. He assured that Afghanistan will not interfere in the internal affairs of any country, including Pakistan, and will not allow its territory to be used against any neighbor.
He emphasized that as a country with bitter experiences of war, they advise Pakistan to prioritize peace over conflict.
During the meeting, Asif Ali Durrani also urged the world to acknowledge the achievements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, particularly in security and counter-narcotics efforts.
He further mentioned that Pakistan and Afghanistan share strong ties, and efforts are being made to strengthen these relations.
Both sides committed to working towards resolving the issues faced by Afghan refugees in Pakistan and the release of Afghan prisoners in Pakistani jails, as well as improving transportation issues in Torkham and Spin Boldak, and taking other measures based on mutual understanding.
Pakistan’s special representative also announced the initiation of future work to start on the Torkham-Jalalabad Road project in Afghanistan.
