The Islamabad police and other security personnel acted swiftly, however, and were able to apprehend the suspect. An inquiry has been launched to investigate every angle of the security breach.
Preliminary interrogation of the suspect, who identified himself as Naseerullah and claimed to be a resident of Afghanistan, has revealed that he was able to enter the PM House unhindered. This has left the security institutions wondering how such a breach was possible.
According to latest reports, the personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department have shifted the suspect to an unknown location after arresting him from the PM House.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the security of the Prime Minister’s House and has highlighted the need for tighter security measures to be put in place to prevent such breaches in the future.
