Afghan Citizen Card holders in Pakistan have been advised to leave the country by the end of this month, as part of the ongoing Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Program.
The government’s repatriation policy, which began on November 1, 2023, initially targeted illegal foreign nationals. Now, authorities have decided to extend the program to include Afghan Citizen Card holders.
According to official directives, all illegal foreigners and Afghan Citizen Card holders must voluntarily leave Pakistan by March 31. From April 1 onwards, deportation proceedings will commence.
Authorities emphasize that sufficient time has been given for a dignified return. The government assures that no individual will be mistreated during the process and that food and healthcare arrangements have been made for those returning.
Pakistan has long served as a gracious host and continues to uphold its commitments as a responsible state. However, it reiterates that individuals wishing to stay in Pakistan must fulfill all legal formalities and abide by Pakistan’s laws and constitution.
