As the year 2022 is coming to an end, through the years though, some movies flunked at the box office, however, few stood out and also did terrific international acclaim.

The Legend of Maula Jatt
Bilal Lashari’s directorial ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ is a Punjabi film that became the highest-grossing movie of the year with more than Rs2 billion in the global box office business.
With a worldwide box-office gross of more than Rs. 238.9 crores, The Legend of Maula Jatt stars Fawad Khan as the titular character with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, and Mahira Khan.
London Nahi Jaunga
‘London Nahi Jaunga’ is a 2022 Pakistani drama comedy movie. It is a spin-off of the 2017 film ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’. It stars Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat, Sohail Ahmed, Kubra Khan, Asif Raza Mir, and Saba Faisal.
London Nahi Jaunga became the second film of 2022 and the third-highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time. The movie grossed PKR 300 million at the domestic box office.
Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad
Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is a 2022 action-comedy movie that stars Fahad Mustafa, Javed Sheikh, and Mahira Khan with Nayyar Ejaz and Mehmood Aslam in an ensemble cast.
The Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat starrer collected Rs22.6 crores from the domestic market and an almost similar amount of 21.95 crores PKR from overseas markets.
Ghabrana Nahi Hai
Ghabrana Nahi Hai is a 2022 action comedy movie that stars Saba Qamar and Zahid Ahmed. On a budget of Rs6 crores, the film grossed approx.
Rs11 crores in Pakistan and Rs3 crores internationally, for a total of Rs14 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Pakistani film of 2022 as of 12 June 2022.
Kamli
Kamli is a 2022 drama film directed by Sarmad Khoosat. It stars Saba Qamar, Sania Saeed, Nimra Bucha, and debutant Hamza Khawaja in lead roles.
Sarmad Khoosat’s ‘Kamli’ became a decent commercial success at the box office. Its impressive hold over the box office has resulted in a total gross of over Rs3.52 crores according to BoxOfficeDetail.
Joyland
Joyland could not do well in Pakisatni cinemas as it became a hub of controversies since the announcement of its release, however, the movie is still a masterpiece and one of the strongest movies Pakisatn can produce as this movie was not only nominated at Cannes and also won under the Uncertain Regard category.
Written and directed by Saim Sadiq, the film is a Khoosat Films production and stars the likes of Alina Khan, Sarwat Gilani, Sania Saeed, and Ali Junejo amongst others. Telling the story of a patriarchal family and touching upon topics of gender and sexuality, the film has been also been submitted under the ‘Best International Film’ category.
Chakkar

Pakistani movies are mostly based on comedy and romance, however, Chakkar was unique when it comes to the genre.
It is a murder mystery directed by Yasir Nawaz that stars popular names like Ahsan Khan, Neelam Muneer, Yasir Nawaz, and Javed Sheikh.
Chakkar earned Rs2. 30 crores. The movie showed good growth on the second day despite having lesser shows.
