KABUL: Afghan army chief Lieutenant General Wali Mohammad Ahmadzai has been fired from his designation.
Reliable sources say that Afghan Army Chief Wali Mohammad Ahmadzai has been removed from his designation and office. He was replaced by Gen. Hebatullah Alizai as the new Chief of Army Staff.
Sources said that questions were being raised about the role of the army chief in the retreat in the war. The Afghan government snatched the war from Abdul Wali Ahmadzai and handed it over to Gen. Hebatullah Alizai.
Clashes continue with the Afghan Taliban’s security forces and occupation of provinces that have taken control of nine more provinces in a week after repelling government forces in two more provinces, including Badakhshan.

The militant group captured two more Afghan provincial capitals in the latest advance. Control of the capitals of Farah and Darakhshan provinces passed from the Afghan government to the Taliban.
The Taliban seized the governor’s house and police headquarters in Farah city. This is the ninth territory captured by the Taliban in a week. As per the European Union, the Taliban have taken control of 65 percent of the country.
Earlier, the Taliban tightened its grip on the occupied territories of Afghanistan, which the Biden government said would force Afghan forces to fight for the nation.
Speaking to the media at the White House yesterday, US President Joe Biden said that Afghan leaders must unite against the Taliban. Afghan troops outnumber the Taliban who want to fight.
