ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s actor Meiraj Haq has reportedly saved a woman, who was being beaten by his ‘violent’ husband publicly in federal capital’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase II.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Meiraj Haq records a violent husband beating his wife in public. When the actor tried to interfere and call the police, the man yelled at him, “She’s my wife, you have no right to do anything about it.”

“I cannot tolerate you interfering in my family. She’s my wife, that’s why I was beating her,” the man can be heard saying. The incident took place in ‘Celebration Planet’, where the man is employed, according to the actor.
The actor also called the security officials and informed them about the incident. According to Meiraj, the woman sought help from him as his husband was beating her in public. “It was unfortunate that no one was stepping in. It was a matter of domestic abuse,” he said in another story.
Later, he also shared stories of other public figures, who praised actor’s ‘heroic’ efforts to save woman from her violent husband. The actor also urged the authorities to take strict action against the man and award him exemplary punishment.
