KARACHI: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet today for the sighting of the crescent of Zil Haj 1442 AH in the Sindh capital.
According to details, the meeting will be chaired by Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Moulana and Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad that would be held at the Met complex after which the final date of Eid-ul-Adha will be announced.
Allama Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi and representatives of the Meteorological Department will participate in the meeting chaired by the chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
The meeting on the possibility of sighting of the moon will announce whether the moon of Zilhaj will appear or not. Evidence in this regard will also be received from the zonal sighting crescent committees.
After receiving the testimonies, Maulana Abdul Khabir, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will announce the final date of Eid-ul-Azha. The meeting will be attended by zonal committee members and meteorologists.
Meetings of zonal sight crescent committees of other districts will be held at their respective centers. The final date of Eid-ul-Azha will be announced after the sighting of the moon of Zilhaj, which is expected on 20th or 21st July this month.
Earlier, the Meteorological Department had predicted that the Zilhaj Moon would not appear on 10th July, while Eid-ul-Azha is likely to take place at the end of the month in Pakistan.
The Meteorological Department, while predicting Eid-ul-Azha four days ago, said that the new moon of Dhu al-Hijjah 1442 would start from 10th July 10 at 6:18 am Pakistan time.
According to the prediction, the moon is not likely to appear today, while the first Dhu al-Hijjah may start from 12th July.
