KARACHI: The death toll in a train accident has risen to 62 while the trash removal work has entered its final phase.
More than 100 people were injured in the tragic accident. According to the details, there were reports of few people were traveling to a wedding party along with the groom whose belongings were also recovered from the compartment, after which the death of 5 persons belonging to Toba Tek Singh was also confirmed.
The bodies of the five deceased have been shifted to Toba Tek Singh in Punjab province. According to reliable sources, the five deceased belonged to the same family and will be buried in their village.
All five were aboard the Millat Express when the accident occurred. The deceased include Sajida Parveen, son and daughter Chand and Momina, sister, and brother Tahira Parveen and Abdul Rehman who succumbed to their injuries in the accident.

According to the deputy commissioner, the bodies of four people were recovered from the rubble last night. Other important personalities including Prime Minister Imran Khan, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Transport Minister Owais Shah have expressed regret over the accident.
It may be recalled that earlier the reasons for the collision of Millat Express and Sir Syed Express near Daharki came to light. The train driver said that the investigation will prove that he was not asleep. Ejaz Ahmed, the driver of Sir Syed Express train, said yesterday that he applied emergency brakes and tried to stop Sir Syed Express but it rammed with the derailed bogies of the Millat Express.
