ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Monday) launched a mobile unit, which will act as a one-window solution to provide information and collect applications for loans.
According to a statement, the mobile unit, in partnership with the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority and the National Bank of Pakistan, would facilitate general public in benefitting from the government’s low-cost housing scheme.
Moreover, the mobile unit will provide one-window operations for getting loans under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. Initially, the mobile unit will provide facility in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and adjoining areas and later the scheme will be expanded across the country.
In addition, the mobile unit will also help reduce the burden on banks regarding dealing with customers during the COVID-19 situation. PM Imran also lauded the initiative taken by the National Bank of Pakistan to set up the mobile unit, saying that ensuring shelter and accommodation for the people was the top priority of his government.
Earlier in April, PM Imran Khan had performed groundbreaking of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) City Naya Pakistan Apartments. Addressing the ceremony, the premier had said that 30 more industries were directly linked with the construction sector.
The Prime Minister added that his government is taking concrete steps to further uplift this sector. “The PTI government faced many hurdles in reaching the position,” he said, adding that Lahore Development Authority (LDA) also removed the flaws within it and is heading in the right direction.
