ISLAMABAD: The PTI-led federal government has decided to give Hammad Azhar’s Ministry of Energy, Power Division to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).
Earlier, it was reported that Prime Minister Imran Khan once again decided to change the portfolios of federal ministers in the cabinet; there is a strong possibility that the portfolio of federal minister Hamad Azhar will be changed.
On May 3, MQM-P turned down an offer of another ministry from the federal government, demanding to first fulfil previous promises from the party. Sources said the MQM-P was offered another ministry in the federal cabinet by a senior minister.
The party, according to sources, responded that they do not need another ministry as they were unable to bear the political weight of the incumbent ministry. The MQM-P sources, while confirming the report said that neither people of Karachi are getting employment nor their other issues are addressed.
On Monday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari has resigned from his position owing to the allegations levelled against him in the Rawalpindi Ring Road project-inquiry.
Taking to Twitter, Zulfi Bukhari said that he was resigning from the position until his name is cleared up of “any allegations and media’s obnoxious lies”. “I reiterate that I have nothing to do with Ring Road or any ongoing Real Estate project,” he added.
