The Israeli aggression continues against innocent Palestinians who have no recourse as the world watches and even refuses to condemn the atrocities. Dozens of Israeli strikes bombarded the crowded Palestinian coastal strip controlled by Hamas.
The death toll from Israeli attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip rose to 192, including 30 women and 56 children on Monday. Dozens of attacks were carried out, the Reuters news agency’s Gaza correspondent Nidal al-Mughrabi said on Twitter.
Protests against Israeli aggression were held around the world. Civil society and other religious groups in Pakistan also organized rallies and demonstrations across Pakistan. But the question is how Pakistan can help Palestine amid the violence.
Talking to M.M News, former Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Jamil Ahmed Khan sheds light on what Pakistan can do for war-torn Palestine. “First of all, Pakistan should urge the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene a meeting of Head of Muslim states,” he said.
Jamil Ahmed pointed out that the recent OIC meeting of Executive Committee of the Foreign Minister has third-level importance, “which will not affect as much we want.” He believed that if a meeting of foreign ministers is convened under Article 10, it would be better.
“In addition, if the 57 OIC members boycott all Israeli products, it will make an impact,” the former ambassador said. He further said Pakistan should also call for an urgent meeting of the UN General Assembly over Israel aggression.
“The time when we could condemn and think that that was enough has long passed. The Israelis do not care about condemnation,” he said, adding that Israel appears to be pursuing its nefarious intentions by annexing Gaza into Israel.
“All these actions are part of their Greater Israel plan. Israel will soon annex Gaza and the United States is fully supporting the country in this whole matter,” Jamil Ahmed concluded.
Meanwhile, speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Monday, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan, Turkey, Sudan, and Palestine’s foreign ministers would visit New York and raise their voices against Israel’s aggression in the Gaza Strip at the UN General Assembly.
