RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has appreciated the performance of players who participated in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Golf Cup Championship tournament.
The President Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Golf Cup Championship concluded at Lahore Defence Raya Golf and Country Club on Sunday.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) was the chief guest in the concluding session of the tournament. COAS appreciated players and awarded prizes to the winners. Moreover, the COAS also inaugurated Raya Fairways.
Earlier, General Qamar Javed Bajwa had announced a fund of Rs50 million for the uplifting of a hockey game in the country.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Hockey Federation President Khalid Sajjad called on COAS where he apprised the latter about measures for the revival of hockey.
COAS said that Pakistan Army always supports games especially hockey, adding that the government also interested in the revival of the game. During the meeting, the army chief announced the fund to which the PHF president thanked him.
