KARACHI: The five terrorists, who were earlier arrested by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) today (Monday) in Karachi, were planning to attack the Sindh Assembly building, according to the investigation sources.
According to details, the arrested terrorists were being controlled and operated from Afghanistan. Mobile phone and communication data has been received by the investigators.
The terrorists had also finalised their strategy for the attack over Sindh Assembly building and in this regard, a rickshaw laden with explosives and suicide jackets were also made. Further investigation from the outlaws is underway.

A terrorist was killed and five others were taken into custody after an exchange of fire with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) team in Karachi, earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, Minister for Information Nasir Hussain Shah praised CTD on foiling a major terror bid, saying an excellent operation was carried out in which the most-wanted terrorists were arrested.
He further said that the terrorists were affiliated with India’s intelligence agency, RAW, and are from Afghanistan. Taking over the presser, CTD Deputy Inspector-General Omar Shahid Hamid said there are other militant cells that are being investigated by the law enforcement agency.
It is to be mentioned here that the security was put on high-alert in Karachi in view of possible terrorist attack following a threat alert issued by the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
