ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Islamabad Police Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman has warned that strict action will be taken against officers, personnel over public complaints and negligence in duties.
Talking to members of the Islamabad Crime and Court Reporters Association, the IG Islamabad said that the media team has been mobilized to bridge the gap between the police and the media and the problems faced by crime reporters in the field.
A training session will be held for crime scene reporting IG Islamabad said. He said disciplinary action would be taken against those focal persons who were found guilty of dropping the complaints without addressing them.
The complaints should be disposed of within two to three days, and undue delay would be considered negligence, he directed. The IG said that police officer and officials should perform their duties with hard work and diligence so that spread of coronavirus might be contained and the lives of citizens might be saved.
Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman said that no negligence would be tolerated in the registration of cases. He directed to register a case immediately on any incident, he said that the police were being reformed and the investigation system was also improved.
The IG Islamabad directed that all resources must be utilized to ensure the safety of life and property of the people and only merit should be used in solving the problems of the people.
He stressed the use of modern technology to control crimes and emphasized resolving the problems of citizens on merit and taking strict action against officials creating hurdles in the way to justice.
On the occasion, IG Islamabad was thanked by the President of Islamabad Crime and Court Reporters Association Zulqarnain Haider, General Secretary Ijaz Cheema and Chairman Shakeel Qarar and hoped that they would play a role in strengthening the relationship between the police and the media.
