Ever since the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came into power, it has been working for the interests of international powers instead of protecting the interests of people of Pakistan. Under the guise of ‘State of Madinah’, an attempt is being made to turn the country a secular state. Attacks are being carried out on the ideological borders of the country.
From day one, the ruling class wanted to control mosques and madrassas, the main frontiers of the country’s ideological borders. In the past, there have been attempts to link religious institutions with terrorism, several non-government organizations sent reports against madrassas to international organizations.
However, fortunately, all such tactics and fake reports failed, and the elements failed to end the relationship of the people with the religious institutions. Later, the incumbent government came to the fore to end this public attachment. They are taking several measures, one after the other, which is causing great concern and anxiety in the religious circles.
Under the guise of FATF, the National Assembly, on September 27, 2020, passed Islamabad Capital Territory Waqf Properties Bill, 2020, which is against all human rights, the Constitution of Pakistan and Islamic principles. Now similar legislation is being enacted in other provinces.
It is well known that this legislation or amendment bill has been passed in an atmosphere of chaos, contrary to the usual traditional way. The opposition and religious circles also raised voice against the Waqf Properties Bill, however, the government as usual did nothing. Obviously, the government has no interest in whether the people of Pakistan are happy or angry with their actions.
Religious scholars in Islamabad came to the fore against this illegal legislation and laid the foundation of a movement, named “Protection of Mosques and Madrassas”. Although Pakistan is an ideological country, the construction of mosques and madrassas here is the responsibility of the state, but they have always neglected this aspect.
There are more than 80 government mosques in the federal capital, but the ulema, despite being imams and preachers in those mosques, never shy away from saying the word of truth. These scholars have played a significant role in every movement. That is why every ruler has a special eye on the mosques, madrassas and clerics of the federal capital.
The Waqf Property Act 2020 contradicts religious teachings. According to Islamic rules and regulations, the waqf properties are not allowed to be traded or auctioned. The current Act has paved the way for the destruction of these national institutions through corruption and occupation by creating scope for sale and auction of waqf properties.
Instead of creating facilities for the person to waqf things, such impenetrable barriers have been set up for him in the name of registration, after which making things waqf would be tantamount to gambling.
