ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has reported that the current positivity ratio in the country stood at 6.13 percent, with the highest positivity ratio being observed in Abbottabad at 15.95 percent.
According to details, Abbottabad had also figured on top on Dec 21 when it recorded 40.32 percent ratio of coronavirus infections. Following Abbottabad, the positivity ratio was found to be highest in Karachi at 14.81 percent and Hyderabad at 14.47 percent.
The ratio is calculated on the basis of positive results in 100 samples. The data also showed that Azad Kashmir reported 11.54pc positivity rate, Balochistan, 7.69pc; Sindh, 7.36pc; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 7.15pc; Punjab, 3.98pc; Islamabad, 3.81pc and Gilgit-Baltistan, 0.89pc.
No new cases were recorded in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) in the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of zero percent. Meanwhile, at least 2,263 patients across the country are in critical condition.
Overall 314 ventilators out of the total allocated for COVID-19 patients were in use across Pakistan, with 54pc occupied in Multan, followed by Islamabad, 42pc; Lahore, 34pc and Peshawar, 31pc.
Around 65 percent oxygen beds were in use in Peshawar, 37 percent in Multan, 33 percent in Islamabad and 32 percent in Rawalpindi. Compared to the 2.09 percent fatality rate in Pakistan, the global ratio was 2.19 percent.
Last week, Pakistan reported the highest number of coronavirus related deaths, 111, in the country since June. The NCOC informed that most of these deaths were reported in Sindh, followed by Punjab.
