LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Senator Kalsoom Parveen has passed away due to coronavirus.
According to details, Senator Kalsoom Parveen, who had been suffering from coronavirus for a few weeks, was shifted to a private hospital in Islamabad on 28th November last month due to ill health.
The Senate Secretariat today confirmed the death of the senator, while according to sources, the PML-N senator had been undergoing treatment in hospital for several weeks. Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, political leaders belonging to PML-N and other political parties have expressed grief over the demise of Senator Kalsoom Parveen.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani telephoned the family of the PML-N senator and expressed condolences over the death of Kalsoom Parveen. Sadiq Sanjrani said that the Senate has lost a very active member and a politician with progressive thinking. According to Sadiq Sanjrani, Senator Kalsoom Parveen fully represented the backward class in Balochistan. She was a sincere and hardworking politician, he maintained.

Earlier, senior journalist Tariq Mahmood Malik with a private TV channel in Rawalpindi had died of the coronavirus. He had been undergoing treatment at the Holy Family Hospital for several days due to ill health.
The coronavirus has killed several political and social figures this year, including Sindh Chief Minister’s Adviser Ejaz Shirazi, and Nawaz Sharif convict Judge Arshad Malik. Gilgit-Baltistan Agriculture Minister and senior PML-N leader Haji Janbaz Khan also died due to coronavirus.
The total number of deaths due to the coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 9,392. According to the National Command and Operations Center, the total number of people affected by Corona in the country has reached 458,968.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus is in Punjab where 3,638 people have lost their lives while 3,333 in Sindh, 1,546 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 391 in Islamabad, 99 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 179 in Balochistan, and In Azad Kashmir, 206 people have lost their lives.
