COVID-19 positivity rate in schools increases by 3%

ISLAMABAD: The rate of positive cases of the coronavirus in Pakistan’s educational institutions has increased from 1.8 to 3.3 percent. The positive case rate in the last week was 82 percent.

In view of the increasing number of cases in educational institutions, a meeting of provincial education ministers is underway today in which important decisions are expected.

According to the NCOC report, the most positive cases are being reported in Rawalpindi, Multan, Lahore, and Faisalabad. More cases of coronavirus have also been reported in Karachi and Hyderabad.

Coronavirus is also spreading rapidly in Peshawar, Abbottabad, and Swat. In Azad Kashmir, the rate of coronavirus positive cases has gone up to 11.45 percent.

In Balochistan, the rate of positive cases reached 7.73 percent, Gilgit 5.23 percent, Islamabad 8.09 percent, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 9.85 percent, Punjab 3.95 percent, and Sindh 9.63 percent.

There are currently 2,155 coronavirus patients being treated in hospitals, and the number of critically ill patients has increased over the past two weeks. An average of 35 people has died from corona in the past week.

In Peshawar and Multan, the number of patients on ventilators increased by 200 percent. In Karachi 148, Lahore 114, Islamabad 65 percent of the patients have gone for a ventilator.

The prime minister said that the use of ventilators in Islamabad and Multan is 70 percent. In Peshawar and Multan, the number of patients on ventilators has increased by 200 percent.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has also hinted that if the cases continue to escalate like this, they will be forced to lockdown. The government is blaming opposition meetings for increasing the spread of the coronavirus. PM Imran Khan has said that the PDM is endangering the lives of the people by holding a meeting and he will be responsible for the results.
