PASNI: Pakistan Coast Guards today (Thursday) have seized 751 kilograms of methamphetamine and heroin worth around Rs20 billion in Balochistan’s Pasni.
A spokesperson for Coast Guards said that the confiscated drugs have a worth Rs. 20 billion in the international market, making this drug bust the country’s biggest in 2020.
According to details, the Coast Guards had received a tip-off that a huge consignment of drugs is being smuggled to South Africa. In this regard, the Coast Guards immediately blocked all sea routes to foil the smuggling attempt and searched all departing boats for three days but to no avail.
After hectic efforts, search parties traced the drugs hidden in a hilly area of Pasni. They confiscated 143 kilogrammes of meth and 608 kilogrammes of high-quality heroin.
Earlier in September, Pakistan Coast Guards had confiscated 2,000 kilograms of narcotics worth Rs. 3 billion from Pasni as well.
