ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the opposition’s alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) have been postponed.
According to PDM spokesman Iftikhar Hussain, the committee will meet on 16th November instead of 13th November, while the party leaders will meet on 17th November instead of 17th November.
The PDM charter will be considered and finalized in the meetings. An effective strategy will be worked out to make the PDM movement more active. The application for NOC of the PDM meeting in Peshawar was submitted by an executive committee comprising general secretaries of five parties. In another petition, the PDM had also requested Peshawar police for security arrangements.
The PDM meeting will be held on 22nd November at 10 am at the Ring Road, Peshawar. According to sources, due to differences between the Awami National Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami over the hosting of the meeting, the leaders have decided to co-host it jointly, for which an executive committee comprising general secretaries of five parties has been formed.
Earlier, PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira had said that those who cracked the PDM would fail. Kaira had said in a statement that an attempt was being made to misrepresent the interview of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The PPP has been fighting for democracy and civil supremacy for three generations.
