Coronavirus death toll hits 824,100 worldwide

WASHINGTON: The global epidemic of coronavirus has infected 24,092,139 people in the world and 824,189 people have lost their lives.

The United States ranks first among countries infected with the coronavirus, with 5,956,036 people infected and 182,412 deaths. The number of coronavirus patients in Brazil has risen to more than 3,674,000. Another 141 people have been killed in Brazil in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to more than 116,000.

The number of people infected with coronavirus in India has risen to more than 3.235 million. The total number of deaths in India in the last 24 hours has risen to 59,632. In Russia, 966,189 people were affected by a coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths to 16,568.

The death toll from coronavirus in South Africa has risen to 13,308, with more than 613,000 people affected. More than 568,000 people have been affected in Mexico, while 61,450 have died. So far, more than 16.68 million patients have been able to defeat coronavirus worldwide, and the number of active cases worldwide is currently 66.26 million.

The first 5 million cases of coronavirus in the world were reported in 185 days while the last 5 million cases came to light in just 18 days. The first case of coronavirus was reported on November 17, 2019, and on March 6, the number of cases worldwide exceeded one million.

The number of coronavirus cases worldwide reached 5 million on May 20, and more than 10 million on June 27. On July 22, the total number of cases reached 15 million. The total number of cases worldwide on August 9 was more than 20 million.
