Pakistan reports 488 new COVID-19 cases

ISLAMABAD: A number of 488 new cases of coronavirus and 7 deaths have been reported across the country.

According to the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is 277,214 and 6,175 deaths.

The number of active cases of corona in the country is 13,953 while 22,448 corona tests have been done in the last 24 hours. At least 1,308 coronavirus patients are being treated in 735 hospitals across the country and 141 patients are on a ventilator.

A number of 126,182 coronavirus cases has come to light in Sindh, 95,447 cases were reported in Punjab, 35,215 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,390 in Islamabad, 2,184 in Azad Kashmir, 2,502 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 12,295 in Balochistan.

The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 2,182 in Punjab, 2,322 in Sindh, 1,239 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 173 in Islamabad, 138 in Balochistan, 60 in Azad Kashmir and 61 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to the government, the graph of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is constantly declining, but the threat of the virus has not yet been averted.

The effects of the coronavirus are rapidly declining in Pakistan, with only 6,000 cases reported in the first ten days of August, the lowest in the past. The NCOC has issued a warning for the re-emergence of the virus during Muharram if effective measures against the coronavirus during the month will not be ensured by the people.
