One dead, another injured as police open fire in Karachi

KARACHI: One person was shot dead and other injured when police opened fire at I.I. Chundrigar Road on suspicion of being robbers.

The victims were traveling on a bike when the police stopped them. They raised their hands after seeing the police but the cops opened fire.

Police said the men were robbers and left the scene of the incident however, eyewitnesses denied the claims. The deceased was identified as Aslam and the injured as Waqar and were both rushed to hospital.

Deputy Inspector General Police (DIG) South Javed Akbar Riaz sought the detailed report of the incident. Three policeman involved in shootout have taken into custody.
