10 labourers injured as marriage hall collapses in Mirpur

MIRPUR: A multi-storey marriage hall building collapsed on Friday morning in Mirpur area on Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said a rescue operation is underway to help people out from under the rubble. The incident occurred when more than 30 labourers were working to renovate the marriage hall in Mirpur’s Chaksawari area.

Rescue officials said that ten people have been rescued from the rubble and shifted to Mirpur DHQ hospital. Police said that more people could be buried under the rubble while efforts are being made to recover more from the debris.
