Restoration of Shalimar Express between Lahore, Karachi announced

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has announced to operate five more trains by implementing all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Talking to media, Sheikh Rasheed said the federal minister said “We have decided to restore five more trains in order to avoid loss during the coronavirus plague.
“We cannot adjust more than 60 percent of people in trains and that is why we are not making more trains functional,” he explained.
Rasheed said that Sir Syed Express, Karachi Express, Bahauddin Zakariya, Shalimar Express and Multan-Karachi railcar will resume their operations soon.
The minister also requested Punjab CM Usman Buzdar to inaugurate the Bahawalpur railway station. He said that Pakistan Railways has suffered a loss of Rs 50 million.
Sheikh Rasheed said that railway is not in a position to resume 100 trains due to lack of safety gear at many railway stations in the country.
He said that next 90 days are important in politics of Pakistan, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan will take action against the flour and sugar mafia.
He further said, “These Sharifs and Gillanis have plundered national wealth. Now is the time that the prime minister should hold accountable all those involved in sugar and wheat crisis.”
