LOS ANGELES: The actors from Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame had a surprising virtual reunion at the 2020 Kids’ Choice Awards, which became the first remote awards show amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The six original Avengers – Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner – made a previously unannounced appearance during the virtual award show from their respective homes.
Actress Scarlett Johansson, who played Black Widow, said: ‘Hey guys! Oh my gosh, this is such a thrill. We are so excited. ‘We are so happy that the Kids’ Choice Awards are still happening.’ Scarlett said she was excited to be given the award for favourite movie
Thor actor Chris Hemsworth once again staked his claim as the strongest Avenger. Mark Ruffallo, who played the Hulk, added: ‘The show must go on. Life must go on. Therefore, the Avengers must go on.’
Australian actor referred to his character Thor’s strength and joked: ‘We are stronger together. Amongst this group, I’m the strongest obviously, we know that.’ However, Captain America star Chris Evans begged to differ and replied: ‘Well…debatable. I seem to remember beating you in a push-up contest.’
“I’m pretty sure I was wearing the big suit with the 70-pound weight I had on my back and my stomach. So, it doesn’t count,” Chris Hemsworth replied.
Meanwhile, Jeremy, who played Hawkeye, held up two masks and pretended to make them fight. Scarlett said this has been her life for a decade. Iron Man actor Robert Downey Junior then popped up to join the others for a surprise appeareance.
Other Kids’ Choice Awards winners included Tom Holland for favourite superhero, JoJo Siwa for favourite social music star and Dwayne Johnson for favourite movie actor.
