KARACHI: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Sindh police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested four alleged criminals of Lyari gang war from Pak Colony area of the metropolis.
According to a spokesman for Sindh police, on a tip-off, a SIU police party conducted a raid in a house in Pak Colony area and arrested four alleged gangsters, Muhammad Anwar alias Gojh, Majid alias Kalu, Muhammad Sohail and Anwar.
The police team also claimed to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition including, two hand grenades, one Kalashnikov with 10 rounds, one TT-pistol with 10 rounds and other explosive materials from their possession.
The arrested criminals were allegedly involved in extortion, robberies, and other criminal activities in different parts of the city, the police official said.
Police further said that 14 criminals cases had already been registered in different police stations against the criminals for their alleged involvement in heinous crimes.
On Monday, Sindh’s security agencies personnel had arrested an Additional Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Karachi police over allegations of having links with Indian intelligence, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
According to police officials, the security agencies had caught ASI Shehzad Pervez from the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi.
The police official further revealed that the ASI was involved in terror activities in the country and was also an active member of MQM-London.
