ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed met Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad and presented a cheque worth 50,185,000 million for COVID-19 relief fund on the behalf of Pakistan Railways employees.
According to PM office officials, the employees of Pakistan Railways donated their one-day salary to Prime Minister’s Corona Relief Fund.
During the meeting Sheikh Rashid informed the PM that a train of Pakistan Railways, comprising 30 medical coaches, had been sent to Chaman as arrangement for isolation of 500 patients and suspects of COVID-19.
Sheikh Rashid also informed the PM Khan about the situation of hospitals, traders and labourers in Rawalpindi in view of ongoing lockdown to control the epidemic.
On Sunday, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jazz Amir Hafeez Ibrahim had called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and presented a cheque of Rs 50 million for PM’s coronavirus epidemic Relief Fund.
On April 12, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad and had presented a cheque worth Rs 10.182 million for COVID-19 relief fund on the behalf of officials of the Foreign Ministry.
On the occasion, Prime Minister had appreciated the spirit shown by the officials of the Foreign Ministry for the COVID-19 relief fund.
On April 9, senior officials of Chinese companies had called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and donate Rs 5 million for PM’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.
On April 5, the premium global smartphone brand, OPPO had announced to give Rs 6.2 million to the Prime Minister Corona Relief Fund.
Peshawar Zalmi Chairman, Javed Afridi and cricketer Azhar Ali have also announced to donate Rs 1 million and Rs 10 million respectively, for Prime Minister’s corona relief fund.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had urged the nation to generously donate in the PM’s coronavirus epidemic Relief Fund set up to fight against the disease.
On a social media website, PM Imran had said this fund will be used to take care of all those who have been made impoverished by the lockdown due to epidemic.
