LAHORE: Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed has said that unity and cohesion are essential to battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
While addressing a ration-distribution ceremony in Rawalpindi, Sheikh Rasheed said that this is the time to show unity and repent to Almighty God. “We have to fight this pandemic collectively,” he asserted.
The railway minister further said that the need of the hour is to build consensus with all four provinces over the COVID-19 lockdown issue. While comparing the coronavirus’ cases of Pakistan with other countries, he said that the virus had caused lesser damage to our country as compared to Europe.
“Coronavirus is under control in Pakistan. Thankfully Asian countries are safer in comparison to European countries and the US,” he added. According to him, the course of world politics will change completely after Coronavirus.
Sheikh Rasheed asserted that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s idea is to ease restrictions slowly. “Prayers can be offered in mosques by following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s,” he added.
He also announced to contribute a huge amount as a donation in the Prime Minister’s corona relief fund on the upcoming Saturday. He earlier also announced that the train services will be remain suspended till Ramzan amid coronavirus threat in the country.
