ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has supported a strict lockdown in high-risk areas of the country due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the whole world is focusing on prevention right now. “We should also follow a stricter lockdown to prevent the virus outbreak.”
While commenting on the tensions and disagreements between the federal and provincial governments, Chaudhry said that he does not look at it as the PPP’s or PTI’s government.
“I do not think it is necessary at this time to get into an argument over who is successful and who is unsuccessful,” Chaudhry said, adding that all provinces have done a good job.
The federal said that Karachi is most at risk from the pandemic. He also identified Gujranwala, Lahore and Rawalpindi divisions as high-risk areas.
Fawad Chaudhry earlier this week announced that the government will provide aid to 45,000 families of Jhelum during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Around 40,000 to 45,000 families of Jhelum will be given aid by the government,” he said.
He further said that the federal government will take every possible step to facilitate the nation in the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the federal minister, Pakistan will be one of the few early countries to overcome the pandemic.
