SRINAGAR: The curfew and communications blockage in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) continues to cut off the region from the rest of the world for the 254th consecutive day on Tuesday.
The people of Kashmir had urged the international community to take notice of the dilemma of the people of IoK, who have been living under absolute lockdown since 5th August when New Delhi revoked the region’s sovereign status.
A research conducted in IoK stated that Indian troops have martyred at least 93 Kashmiris, including women and teenagers during the ongoing eight-month siege and lockdown in occupied Kashmir.
At least 963 people were critically injured due to the use of brute forces, firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells on them by the Indian military and the police in the occupied territory.
Last week, FO Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui pointed out that almost 170 coronavirus infections and five fatalities have been reported in IoK. “The voices from within India and around the globe continue to condemn the inhuman oppression of people in IoK,” she added.
She further said, “Six international organizations demanded the release of all political leaders and people arrested in the valley and also highlighted that measures to combat coronavirus must respect human rights of every individual.”
