ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Resource Development Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari had felicitated the residents of the Christian community in Islamabad on their religious occasion of Easter.
During a visit to the Christian colonies of sectors H-9 and G-7 in Islamabad, the minister extended Easter greetings and distributed medical supplies and over 1,000 food parcels among the poor families.
On this occasion, Bukhari said the Christian community has been asked to provide data of people living in the slum areas “so an incessant supply of food and medicines can be make sure for them”.
He further said that the government has decided to launch an essential supply distribution campaign for poor families residing in slum areas.
He also hinted at a sanitation campaign to disinfect all of the city’s slum areas including churches, homes, and streets within, so that the people’s lives can be protected from the deadly epidemic.
Bukhari assured the residents that the government was working hard to control the spread of coronavirus and efforts were being made to give financial support to the families affected by the lockdown. The area people thanked the minister for taking care of the poor in these tough times.
