Pervaiz Elahi meets Khawaja brothers in Lahore

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has met Khawaja Saad Rafiq and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafiq.
During the meeting, Pervaiz Elahi congratulated all the parties for battling the COVID-19 together. “We as a nation have to fight the coronavirus,” he added.
On the occasion, Khawaja Saad described his terms with Pervaiz Elahi, “We have an old relationship with the Chaudhry family.” We want to take this long relationship forward, he added.
The opposition leaders also inquired about former premier Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s health and extended their best wishes to him. Khawaja brothers said that humanity demands that we set aside political differences and unite as a nation to overcome the pandemic.
Last month, Pervaiz Elahi telephoned Khawaja brothers congratulated them on their release after year-long detention. Khawaja brothers thanked the senior politician and also expressed the resolve to stand by the federal and provincial governments in their fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this week, Khawaja brothers were exempted from a court appearance in the Paragon Housing Society case. Both were granted bail by the Supreme Court last month in the same case.
Saad Rafique along with his brother Salman Rafique was arrested on 11th December 2018 on the charges of signing an agreement with Paragon City regarding the sale of land worth over Rs393 million.
