KARACHI: The number of COVID-19 cases has surged to 4,602 in Pakistan while the pandemic has claimed 65 lives.
The country recorded 248 cases during the last 24 hours. As many as 572 patients have recovered from the disease while 31 are in critical condition at different hospitals.
The worst-affected Punjab province has a number of 2,279 COVID-19 cases. The number of 16 patients has died in the province so far while 34 have recovered. There are 1,128 coronavirus cases in Sindh, while 18 patients have lost their lives. As many as 269 people have recovered from the infection.
The total confirmed coronavirus cases in Balochistan are 219, 620 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 215 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 107 in Islamabad and 33 in Azad Kashmir.
About 65 people have died of COVID-19 since its outbreak in the country, which includes 21 in Sindh, 18 in Punjab, 20 in KP, 02 in Balochistan, and 03 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The worldwide number of officially confirmed deaths from the coronavirus now stands at above 90,000. More than 1.5 million declared cases have been registered in 213 countries.
