Chinese nine-member delegation of medical experts meet Sindh CM

KARACHI: A nine-member delegation of doctors and medical experts from China met Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to share Beijing’s their experience in controlling the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to a statement issued by Sindh Information Department, the delegation of medical experts from China, headed by Ma Minghui met CM Sindh on Wednesday.

During the meeting Ma Minghui urged CM Shah to continue ensuring that people were practising social distancing as it was one of the key steps to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Minghui said a severe lockdown to control the epidemic in the People’s Republic helped bring everything under control.

The visiting health experts underlined that food ration supply campaigns should also be carried out in separation as crowds of any kind would wipe out the efforts being taken to control the COVID-19 spread.

The health Chinese delegation   assured the chief minister that they would provide expertise and other equipment to the Sindh government.

Chief Minister appreciated the government of China for supporting the Pakistan by providing medical equipment as well as health experts in this testing time.

Shah said had ordered closure of all government offices, factories educational institutes, business centres, and public transport to limit the spread of the epidemic.

CM said that a shortage of testing equipment and kits made it difficult for the provincial government to conduct tests faster.

According to Sindh Health Department officials, the provincial authorities had conducted 758 COVID-19 new tests, of which 50 samples were diagnosed as positive.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has crossed 1000 after 50 new cases were reported in the province, raising the provincial death tally to 20.
