ISLAMABAD: Social media, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, have been accused of spreading unverified news about the coronavirus among the public.
The people have accused social media of spreading chaos about the coronavirus. The social websites are also showing foreign patients as Pakistani citizens on the websites.
Through these websites, a video is being shown of coronavirus affectees being shifted to the hospitals but in reality, these patients are shifted because of different diseases but such false videos are creating anxiety among the citizens.
According to citizens, social media should be more responsible about false news related to coronavirus. Citizens are suffering from psychological disorder due to irresponsible behavior of social media. The cybercrime should act against the site and those who are spreading the rumors.
YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp groups are at the forefront of spreading the false news related to it, while also it is affecting people emotionally. Such falls news is shared more than the authentic ones.
False phone numbers and the misinformation are mostly released on social media, while the people have said that the government representatives should also provide the distribution numbers to the media so that the media could release it.
